CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH PARTICIPANTS ARE ALLOWED INTO NON-PUBLIC AREAS.

As part of the Introduction to Zoo Keeping – Junior experience, the parent / guardian and participant must both read the conditions below.

End time: 1:00 pm

 

is permitted access to selected animals and their enclosures on the ZSL London Zoo site as pre-arranged by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL).

 

 

This access is given subject to the following conditions which the participant has agreed to in advance:
 

  1. The participant is allowed onto the premises, and into non-public areas at their own risk.
  2. The participant is allowed into the selected animal enclosures being fully aware of, and accepting the hazards, risks and control measures that may be associated with doing so.
  3. The participant accepts that ZSL staff have full authority at all times.
  4. The participant agrees to take the utmost care at all times. Any zoo animal can be dangerous and the participant must do only what they are instructed to do by the ZSL staff supervising the activity.
  5. The participant will not attempt to cross any barriers, climb any buildings or enter any area unless they are with a member of ZSL staff.
  6. The participant will make no attempt to rouse, touch, feed or otherwise make contact with animals without ZSL’s staff permission and supervision.
  7. The participant will adhere to all safety rules and procedures at all times. Each participant will be given a briefing on Health and Safety issues on arrival.
  8. ZSL shall not be liable for any claim in respect of the injury or death of the participant, save to the extent that death or injury is due to the negligence of ZSL, it’s staff or personnel.
  9. ZSL shall not be liable for any claim in respect of loss or damage to any of the participant’s property while on the site.
  10. The participant will notify ZSL of any medical conditions which might be aggravated by the activities, environment or animals, or which staff should be aware of in case of emergency.
